Andy's Brief History of Time

I was born on January 22nd, 1965, at my parent's home in Scunthorpe, and I lived there in the same house for a large proportion of my life.

I'm the youngest of John and Cynthia's four children, and my elder sisters are Susan, Janet, and Jennifer. Being older sisters, they made my life hell as a kid, although looking back I think I probably did the same for them!

My first school was Crosby Primary, just round the corner from home, and then I went to Foxhills Comprehensive School. When I left Foxhills, I went to John Leggott Sixth Form College to study for my A Levels, and I left with just a pathetic grade E in Mathematics. The next year I went to North Lindsey College where I took an Ordinary National Diploma in Computer Studies.

After spending a year unemployed, I signed up to take a Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies at Teesside Polytechnic (now the University of Teesside) in Middlesbrough, and I stayed on to get his Graduate Diploma in Software Engineering. Somehow I managed to pass the course, which is a surprise to both me and my lecturers :)

After leaving Teesside, I worked in several jobs, from factory work to computer work, and I eventually met Carol who I married. Unfortunately, the marriage was not to last, and we were divorced in December 2000. By this time, I was already working in Helsinki, and living with my Finnish girlfriend Lotta.

And that just about brings you up to date. To find out how things are for me these days, have a look at The Present.
